An outstanding mission took a team of dedicated doctors and nurses, including Dr. Michael Schmidt, to Cambodia to provide urgently needed medical assistance. As part of a two-week project, the team of ten operated on a total of 40 patients at the Sonja Kill Memorial Hospital in Kampot. This mission took place in a region that is severely affected by poverty and where medical care is often only available to a limited extent. In addition to the life-changing operations, a particular focus was on the further training of local doctors and nursing staff in order to improve medical care in the long term. Dr. Michael Schmidt and his colleagues are thus sending a strong signal of international solidarity and humanitarian commitment.
